Catcliffe Glass Cone

About Catcliffe Glass Cone

Catcliffe Glass Cone is one of only six glass cones in the UK and the earliest surviving example of its type in Western Europe! It dates all the way back to 1740 and remained in use until 1884, with a very brief reopening for the year between 1900 to 1901.

Did you know that all 190 windows at Wentworth Woodhouse were glazed here?

While the cone is no longer used for its original purpose, Catcliffe Cone Community group now creates an engaging programme of events and activities at the site.
