Visit our Search Room

If you want to start your family tree, research the local area, or consult the archives and local studies collection, you really should visit our Search Room at Clifton Park Museum. Our friendly team are always ready to welcome you, to listen and share, helping real stories to be found and told.

We hold books and resources that will help you start to trace your family history, as well as free access to genealogy websites including Find My Past and Ancestry.

Booking procedures

We recommend that you book an appointment at least one week before you intend to visit us. This enables us to make sure the relevant resources are ready for you in advance.

Search Room opening hours

Our current opening times are:

  • Wednesday 10am to 4pm
  • Thursday 10am to 4pm
  • Friday 10am to 4pm
  • Every other Saturday 10am to 3:30pm

(Please note we do not open on Bank Holidays, and we close for lunch on Saturdays between 12:30pm and 1pm)
