York and Lancaster Regimental Collection

The York and Lancaster Regimental Collection is cared for by the charity The York and Lancaster Regimental Museum of which Rotherham Council is the sole trustee. The York and Lancaster Gallery in Clifton Park Museum explores some of the stories of the Regiment through its archive and museum collections.

Collections

The 3500 objects cover all aspects of Regimental life during the period 1758 to 1968 and include material from any part of the world in which the Regiment served (principally India, New Zealand, Africa, and Europe).

Access to the Regimental archive collection is via Rotherham Archives and Local Studies at Clifton Park Museum. They are open to the public every Wednesday to Friday and every alternate Saturday.

Archive

The archive consists of over 16,000 items that were used by the Regiment in an official capacity, collected by soldiers during their military career, or saved by the families of those on active service.
